Number 6: They use your past against you.
The narcissist’s real side is a lot like their fake one. They’re out for themselves, and they don’t care who gets hurt in the process. When you finally see the narcissist’s real side, they’ll likely use your past against you. They’ll say things like, “You did this to yourself,” or even worse, “I never wanted any of this.” They’ll do it in a way that makes you feel like it was your fault. Narcissists may also try to make you question your sanity by saying things like, “You’re making me crazy” or “You’re too sensitive.”
By using your past against you and making you feel responsible for your bad behavior, the narcissist can manipulate others into thinking that you are the problem. They are notoriously good at twisting the truth, turning things around, and making you feel like the bad guy in any given situation.

Number 7: They try to convince you that their way is the only way.
The narcissist’s real side is the one that shows up when they think you’re going to disagree with them. When you say no or disagree with them, they’ll immediately start trying to convince you that their way is the only way and that you should just trust them because they’re smarter than you are. This can take the form of name-calling. For example, if you don’t want to go along with something the narcissist said or did, they might call you stupid or crazy. It could be an attempt at emotional manipulation.
For example, if you don’t agree with them about something important to them, they might tell you that if you don’t change your mind, then it means there’s something wrong with your relationship. It may be worse; they’ll ask for a breakup right away. This isn’t a threat; it’s just meant to get under your skin and make you feel bad enough about yourself so that, in the end, you’ll just give in.

Number 8: They make themselves out to be the victim in any situation.
Narcissists believe that if someone attacks them or makes them feel bad, it’s because they’ve been wronged. When you see the narcissist’s real side, you’ll discover that they make themselves out to be the victim in any situation. This is because their self-image is so fragile that they need everyone else to validate it. The narcissist will make you feel bad for them and how they’re being treated. They’ll tell you they’re being talked about by others or blamed for something they didn’t do.
They may even start crying while they tell you this, an attempt to evoke sympathy from you. This can be hard to spot because it can seem like genuine emotion on their part, but it’s not; it’s all just an act.
