1. Your identity.

 Our identity is made up of our qualities, beliefs, personality, looks, and expressions. Narcissists are drawn to our personalities and positive qualities, but then, they outright mimic us and adapt our positive traits as their own, even sometimes down to our facial expressions.

 We may have thought acute and irresistible during the love-bombing phase, but after they steal your positive traits, they then project all their negative traits onto you. They take everything that is good and pleasant from you, then try and dump their rubbish on you, and brainwash you into thinking that it was always your rubbish.

 The psychological abuse that we go through leaves us doubting who we really are. Some of us may have even started believing the lies of who or what the narcissist said we are.

 Before we know it, they are walking around flouting our positive traits as their own, and we end up not knowing what we are about anymore. It’s not until we get away from the toxicity that we start to remember the things we enjoyed, the things that made us laugh, what we stood for, and what we believed.

 Our identity is crucial to who we are, but the narcissist feels entitled to steal even that from you and leave you in limbo, trying to find yourself again.
