Number 5: They throw tantrums like a toddler.
I would say it’s worse than that because you can communicate with the child and you can help the child understand why they are not getting a certain thing at a certain time and why they need to tolerate disappointment; you can train a child to do that. But a narcissist can never be trained to do so. Why, you may ask? Because it’s a child stuck in an adult’s body. They have all the capabilities, physical and other capabilities, and financial capabilities of an adult, but the emotional and psychological capabilities of a child. This is a toxic mess that you’re dealing with. If they want something, they want it there and then, which points out their need for instant gratification and their extreme impulsivity. Sometimes, the tantrums they throw are quite ugly; definitely, it looks like a child is acting out.
Other times, these tantrums are quite scary. For example, punching holes in the walls, breaking stuff, destroying your relationships with others, and running massive smear campaigns; that is a part of their tantrum indeed, and it is a sign that they have lost control, so they are trying to control the environment and control other people who are associated with you to control your life. These tantrums can get really, really dangerous if the narcissist has the power and resources to take revenge on you, which also makes it extremely important to say that they think vengeance is their right; they do not care about the relationship they have shared with you in the past.

Let’s say you are divorcing them; they will wage a full-on war against you; it truly will be turned into a battle. They will show zero empathy or sympathy for you; they will use your children against you if that means you will be destroyed; they’ll do everything in their capacity to punish you, weaponize doctors, weaponize psychologists, and most importantly and unfortunately, the court system, just to tear you apart, just to destroy you permanently.
In conclusion, we can say narcissists are crazy in so many ways, and all of that craziness, that insanity, gets manifested through their behavior. It’s how they behave around you that tells us who they are inside. For these reasons, I say if you want to know who you are dealing with, focus on their behaviors and then try to understand how their behaviors have impacted you in the past or how they are impacting you in the present.
