Number 7: Threatening to harm themselves.
This is an extreme measure to take, but some will do it. Some hoovering narcissists will threaten to take their own life or physically harm themselves to gain the attention of the victim. This is done with seriously hurt people who do not take rejection well. This will guilt the victim into getting back with the narcissist, friendship, or relationship because they are scared they will harm themselves.
This is usually taken to the extreme when the victim blatantly refuses to answer any calls or texts of the narcissist. This is a very serious act but because of the heightened moment and overload of emotions, the victim will be too worried about the narcissist to see how toxic this is.

This kind of behavior is upsetting to the victim and it will begin to make them feel like everything was their fault and they put the narcissist in this position. They may start to believe they are the toxic ones in the relationship and they will condition themselves to be more sympathetic and cater to the narcissistic needs more often than their own.
These types of narcissistic hoovering tactics are dangerous to the relationship and can end very badly for both parties. It is important to remember that a relationship cannot depend on the mental health of one partner.
