What Does The Bible Say About Narcissism

“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.”

Now let’s break this down, they profess to know god. There are so many of us who have been manipulated and deceived by people who claim to be Christians. In fact, unfortunately, a substantial amount of my coaching clients actually met the narcissist at church.

A lot of narcissists love to hide behind the lie that they are Christian because they know that the victim’s guard will automatically be down if they claim they are a godly or religious person, specifically if their target is a person of faith. We aren’t expecting to meet narcissistic predators at church, nor are we expecting to be abused and manipulated by someone who claims to be a Christian.

But the reality is, not only does the Bible warn us about narcissists, in my opinion, and narcissism, but it’s not unheard of for narcissists to be actually involved in the church as active participants. The reality is many narcissists manipulate and exploit Christianity and religion to their advantage, and this goes for all religions, not just Christianity.

These types of narcissists take scripture out of context to further confuse, exploit, and abuse their victims. Remember, these people do not have an operating functioning conscience. Therefore, nothing is sacred or off-limits for them to exploit to get whatever it is that they want and that includes religion and the bible, and I think this scripture is a perfect example of just that.
