 8. They will accuse you of being the real narcissist.

 How can a narcissist deflect the blow? Instead of thinking about what you have told them and taking a good look at themselves, narcissists are very quick to flip the accusation and pass it on back to the empath like a hot potato. Narcissists hate anything that threatens their reputation.

 Being called the narcissist, though the truth is not something they would like to hear. No matter how well-intentioned, nor how well said it was by the empath, narcissists just cannot take in criticism of any kind. People who shed light on the narcissist situation will be met by hatred, anger, and accusation, blaming the empath to be the true narcissist.

 7. They will blame you for every bad thing that has happened.

 Can narcissists accept their faults? Everyone is imperfect and most believe and accept that. Narcissists also “accept” that, or so they say. Though narcissists say they believe that nobody is perfect, in their hearts they still hold on to their grandiose delusion that they are flawless. Because of this delusion, they cannot accept any blame for anything, even if all the evidence points to them, their pride and ego are too huge and fragile to handle such accusations.

 So when anything goes south, narcissists blame whoever is the most convenient. If you call them out on being a narcissist, they can very easily blame all their mistakes and failures on you.
