 What does an empath remember when thinking about whether to confront a narcissist or not? Confronting a narcissist is never a good idea, especially if one is planning to do this alone. People who are thinking about whether to do it or not must remember this one very important thing; narcissists can and will hurt people. Whether emotionally or physically, they will not hesitate to hit back.

 No matter how pure the empath’s intentions are, they must think about the gamble they are about to make. If the empath is left with no choice but to speak their mind, it would be best if there were other people present to defuse the situation when needed. Calling for backup is always a good idea.

 How will a narcissist regain control over the situation? Narcissists live for control. The reason why narcissists create false personas is to allow them to gain as major control in a world that makes them feel so lost and alone. When they are figured out, they try their hardest to regain the control that they have lost. They may double their efforts in their manipulative tactics such as gaslighting, lying, and guilt-tripping just to keep the empath under their thumb.

 Like magicians, narcissists know that their schemes work best when the audience does not know their secrets. People who try to confront the narcissist of their behaviors must think more about how their actions might affect themselves and not so much the narcissist.
