Number 3: Narcissists are hurt when they are criticized.
Criticism is the worst thing that can happen to a narcissist because it challenges their ego and makes them feel like they are not perfect. This often makes the narcissist lash out at the person criticizing them, and tend to take it as an attack on their character rather than a personal failure.
Narcissists aren’t afraid of what you might say about them or the consequences of your disapproval. They’re so scared that you have power over them if you criticize them. They hurt when they are criticized, but not because they care about what other people think.
Number 4: They are hurt when you do not give in to what they want.
Narcissists are a lot like toddlers, when they want something, they want to know. And if you don’t give it to them immediately, but it’s not just that they throw a fit, it also can’t really understand why you wouldn’t want to give them exactly what they want right now. They don’t see any reason why you wouldn’t be delighted to provide them with what they want.
Narcissists expect other people to follow them without question. They don’t like it when someone disagrees with them or tries to make them do something that they don’t want to do. A narcissist will often try to make people feel guilty if they don’t comply with their demands or wishes.
Number 5: Narcissists are hurt when you judge their appearance.
We all have our fair share of insecurities regarding our bodies and appearances. Still, for some people, it’s an all-consuming obsession and they want you to think they are great looking. Narcissists are obsessed with their appearance, so this one is a surefire way to get under their skin. Don’t expect them to be grateful for your honesty when they tell you why they think you’re ugly too.
Narcissists don’t believe in their own self-worth; they believe that all their values come from the opinions of others. In fact, if you call a narcissist out on their appearance or criticize them for something related to their looks like dressing poorly, it may make them feel like you don’t think they’re attractive enough.
