 9. Xylitol.

Dogs do not react well to Xylitol. Xylitol is mostly found on sugar-free gums or candies. In people, Xylitol does not stimulate insulin release from the pancreas, but for our canine Pals, when they eat something that contains Xylitol, it is quickly absorbed into their bloodstream causing rapid insulin release that can put them in a coma within 15 to 20 minutes. It potentially leads to weakness and even seizures. Some dogs may also experience liver failure.

9. Yeast.

If you are baking bread, keep the raw yeast dough away from your curious dogs. If your dog ingests fermenting yeast, it gets rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream where it produces enough ethanol to cause alcohol poisoning. Additionally, the yeast in that dough can expand as it passes through their digestive system, severely bloating your dog’s stomach and causing intense pain and discomfort.

10. Cooked bones.

You should never feed your dog cooked bones. When bones are cooked, they tend to be brittle and can easily be broken into sharp shards that can do so much damage when they pass through the gastrointestinal tract, not to mention that it can also be a choking hazard too. Letting your dog eat cooked bones might cause stomach tissue inflammation, so make sure that cooked bones are off-limits to your canine Pals.

11. Leeks and onions.

Does your dog like to follow you in the kitchen while cooking? Well, just make sure that they don’t nibble on the leeks and onions when you’re not looking. Just like garlic, leeks and onions contain sulfoxides and disulfides that can cause oxidative damage to your dog’s red blood cells, which can cause anemia.

12. Salt.

Are you aware that salt can be fatal to dogs? Yes, you heard it right! Salt poisoning may occur when dogs have eaten large amounts of salt or sodium. It triggers dehydration, vomiting, muscle Tremors, seizures in coordination, and diarrhea. That’s why a lot of typical human food is unsuitable for dogs, it is just too salty for them. Also, when going on a beach trip, keep an eye out for your Pooch since drinking salty ocean water is one of the most common causes of salt poisoning.
