 Number 4: They lie about their financial situation.

 It’s not uncommon for narcissists to exaggerate how much money others make compared to them, and how much money they make. They do this for everyone else around them to feel less than them. Narcissists tell you that they live in a big house and drive luxury cars when in reality, they’re living in a small apartment and driving an old car.

 Narcissists also lie about their financial situation, especially when avoiding an awkward situation. They’ll tell you that they’re on the verge of bankruptcy or that their account is overdrawn so they can avoid paying for dinner or a movie.

 Number 5: They lie when they say “I love you”.

 Narcissists lie when they say I love you because they don’t actually love anyone. They just crave attention and validation from other people, so they pretend to care about others to get more attention and validation from those people. They aren’t capable of love, they’re capable of only caring about themselves and their own needs.

 Narcissists will say anything to get what they want from someone else, even pretending to be in love with them. So if someone says “I love you”, take it with a grain of salt and ask yourself: “Is this person trying to get something from me?” If so, what is it? Is this person manipulative? If so, how?
