If you’ve loved, lived with, or know or work for a narcissist, one of the things that you absolutely know better than everybody else is that a narcissist cannot tell the truth. So in today’s topic, we are going to be talking about some of the lies narcissists tell to keep you stuck and being strung along.
Narcissists create a world where two plus two equals four only some of the time. Then they try and convince you it’s actually five and repeat the lie so often you start to believe it until they switch their answer and go back to four, denying they ever said differently.
Why do narcissists do this? Because they have an endgame, which is to keep you under control so you will continue to take their abuse. To do this, they keep you in a state of uncertainty and use confusion as a weapon against you.
The lies narcissists tell are designed to brainwash narcissistic abuse victims into experiencing cognitive dissonance. A narcissist will control the way you view them, yourself and your family and friends. A narcisssist will manipulate a narcissistic abuse victim very much like a cult leader will use brainwashing techniques to gain complete control over how a victim thinks and feels.
