Giving them silence when they make their accusations are just as loud as the act of arguing back. Narcissistic people look to light a fire under their victim’s feet, and simply putting it out when it is small denies the abuser what they want: a fight.

Another immunity builder can be creating a safe space in one’s own head where you can filter out the negativity from your abuser. You can control what goes on in and out of there. The victim has a power that the abuser can never see or touch. Many specialists also recommend regular exercise and a cleaner diet to help keep the balance in the victim’s life. Balance and consistency are key to building that immunity for the simple fact that you need strength and a clear mind to fight against the abuse.
