Number 3: Narcissists don’t care about what you think or feel.
This is one of the red flags that a narcissist has that anyone would tend not to believe. Narcissists don’t care about what you think or feel. You may feel lucky to have them at first, but trust me; they’ll show their true colors in time. They have little to no empathy at all. They focus only on how other people can benefit them; whether making themselves look good or getting something from them.
When you talk to a narcissist, they are likely to be charming and charismatic, but that doesn’t mean they actually care about you or what you have to say. Narcissists will use their charm to get what they want; once they have it, that’s it. They move on to someone else or drain you with their control and manipulation. They don’t care if they hurt people in the process because they only care about themselves, and narcissists will never listen when you talk about yourself. They’ll pretend they do, of course. They listen only when they have something to say themselves.
This means that when they speak, they usually interrupt and go off on tangents because they do not need to listen when someone else has something important to say first. This behavior can come across as self-centeredness and selfishness. It can cause major problems in relationships where both partners need to feel loved and cared for to thrive. This is one of the reasons why having a relationship with a narcissist will never last long and will only end up as a nightmare.
