The final situation is when a narcissist is rejected.
This is another situation where you could be telling a narcissist no, and you don’t even know it. It could be a work colleague, a manager. But when they are told that small two-letter word “NO”, narcissists see it as an utter sign of disrespect to be denied their wants and needs. How dare you tell them no? How dare you turn them down? Who do you think you are?
No matter how small the favor is, if you tell the narcissist no, their blood begins to boil. Saying no to the narcissist indicates that there are boundaries, and narcissists hate boundaries. They think they should be able to get what they like, do what they like, say what they like, but you can’t always get what you want. People have different boundaries and limitations, but a narcissist does not have the capacity to respect or accept that simple fact.
