 5. Depression.

Some people are hypersensitive to all sorts of emotions. Whether it be positive ones or negative, they affect them equally. However, when people get themselves into a relationship with a narcissist, most of these good feelings go away to be replaced with negative ones. When this happens, it isn’t a surprise for them to fall into a pit of depression.

Usually, when depressed people are asked how they feel, they say things like feeling worthless, hollow, or empty inside. This can be because having experienced traumatic events they have unconsciously shut down feeling all emotions to protect themselves from those negative feelings.

In doing so, they have also blocked themselves from feeling happiness. People who keep narcissists in their lives are more likely to suffer from depression. It just gets too tiring for them to keep hauling themselves up and out of the pit of negativity, the narcissist constantly throws them in.

 6. Eating disorders.

Being constantly negative about everything, it is no wonder how a narcissist may cause an empath to develop eating disorders. Whether it be stress eating or not eating because of stress and shaming.

Narcissists with their abusive behavior, may quite possibly cause, or at least contribute to this problem. Ever the perfectionist, narcissists use shaming to degrade other people and set themselves as their own standard of perfection. They usually target people whom they can boast about while making them feel worthless and pathetic by worsening their insecurities and feeding them with lies about themselves.

Empaths are always quick to please and are very much affected by how the narcissist in their life views them. However, whatever the empath does to please the narcissist, it is never really enough for them.
