Number 3: You make them face the ugly truth.
Narcissists think they can never make mistakes, not even the slightest one. A 2020 study shows that narcissists don’t take any advice from others, don’t trust anyone, and never admit their mistakes. So if you make them face the ugly truth or their mistakes, they will simply start hating you. They will be afraid of being confronted for their acts and therefore will make sure to suppress your voice.
If you expose a narcissist, they will try to justify their acts. Your narcissist partner will continue to lie to your face and will never accept their mistakes. They have only one thought stuck in their minds and that is that no one is superior to them. They can do what they want to. But if you confront them, they will start disliking you and eventually, your relationship will become toxic.
Number 2: You are more confident than them.
Your narcissist partner can’t see you as more confident than them. First, they will exhibit a false sense of self-confidence and try to act and speak more confidently, especially if they are senior to you. But when you also act in the same confident manner, instead of feeling happy for you, they will dislike your confidence. Your partner will either criticize you or point out your mistakes in front of everyone to make you feel low. This only satisfies their fake ego and self-centered personality.

Number 1: You are loyal to those they don’t like.
Narcissists don’t like their victims because they want their victims to think and care about them. The fundamental aim of narcissists is to dominate the life of their closest ones. So if you are loyal to those whom your narcissist friend doesn’t like, you are going to face their rage. If you are the only one close to them, they will never like you to befriend their enemies. They will have a strong sense of insecurity and will feel that you have betrayed them.
Despite working with facts, narcissists always think with anger and they can’t endure this betrayal. Even if they leave you, they will keep an eye on your activities and try to harm you or your dear ones. They will make sure to make you regret your loyalty to their enemies. Broadly speaking, your narcissist friend can’t live without you, but they can’t also live with you unless you admit your mistakes in front of them.
