3. People tend to take advantage of you in relationships or work.

Super empaths often feel like they’re being taken advantage of in their working or romantic relationships. If you’re an empath, you are likely naturally kind-hearted and have an overarching faith in humanity.

Because of that, you might tend to assume everyone has good intentions or won’t take advantage of you, but if people begin to recognize you as a people pleaser, you will leave yourself open to being taken for granted. Thankfully, super empaths, unlike regular empaths, have a high core identity which we will talk about more in the next trait.

Although it’s an empath’s default nature to strive to make people happy, if they don’t learn how to set boundaries d say “NO”, they might be taken advantage of by others. If you need help with this, then check out our article on how to set boundaries.

4. Super empaths have a core identity.

Like we mentioned, empaths have a strong core identity. Most regular empaths don’t know how to separate their empathy towards others from their own emotions and selves. It’s not uncommon for some empaths or dark empaths, to take on chameleon-like characteristics of those around them. They can appear as emotional shape-shifters at times.

Dark empaths might take on the identity of those around them for manipulative or selfish reasons. Regular empaths, in contrast, might do so unintentionally. When they care deeply about someone, they might begin to put their feelings and needs ahead of their own.

In relationships, they might forget who they are themselves by adopting all their partner’s interests and passions until they forget their own. However, different from each of those, the super empaths have a strong identity that can withstand even the toughest manipulators. It’s their core identities that make them a narcissist’s biggest nemesis- and their most alluring and unattainable targets.

A super empath’s core identity keeps them true to themselves even when a manipulator tries to push their boundaries. If a narcissist tried to make a super empath doubt who they were, guilt them for something they didn’t do, or intimidate them to make themselves feel better, a super empath will not budge.

They know their values, morals, and beliefs like the back of their hands, and when someone tries to shift them, they don’t tolerate it. A super empath doesn’t only have empathy for others, they have it for themselves.
